NTT DATA Places as a Major Contender in Everest Group’s 5G Engineering Services 2021 PEAK Matrix Assessment Report
Company Recognized for its Quality of Projects, Skilled Workforce and Investments in Engineering Capabilities
TOKYO – January 18, 2022 – NTT DATA, a digital business and IT services leader, today announced that Everest Group has positioned the company as a Major Contender in its first 5G Engineering Services Providers PEAK Assessment 2021 report. NTT DATA was also listed among the companies generating higher than 30% year-over-year growth in 5G engineering services revenue.
As 5G technologies usher in new ways for people to work and for companies to hone industrial processes, an ecosystem of partners and engineering service providers is evolving to help enterprises overcome technology challenges. NTT DATA is making significant investments in 5G, introducing new products and services to help clients speed up their business transformation processes, cut operating and development costs, and develop compelling new use cases for an extremely wide range of industries.
“NTT DATA does not believe in a one-size-fits all approach when it comes to 5G,” said Kaz Nishihata, Senior Executive Vice President & Representative Director at NTT DATA Corporation. “Leveraging our technology skills, telecommunications experience and global market penetration, we are able to provide customized experiences for clients developing new products and new business models. Being recognized as a Major Contender in Everest Group’s 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2021 report shows we are delivering the value clients need.”
In its first-ever 5G engineering services report Everest Group acknowledged the high marks clients gave NTT DATA for quality of projects delivered, technical expertise, adherence to timelines and project management skills. The report also described NTT DATA as having strong partnerships and a positive track record for investing in engineering capabilities in areas such as network slicing, network virtualization and Open RAN (radio access network).
The report also outlines NTT DATA’s 5G engineering services vision. NTT group has initiated R&D efforts on a long-term plan to create an Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) that would offer high-speed broadband communication, ultra-low energy consumption, and enormous computing resources by 2030. In the meantime, the report said, NTT DATA is targeting proof of concepts, flexible solutions and joint innovation projects with key partners.
“NTT DATA has emerged as a Major Contender in Everest Group’s 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2021, which can be attributed to credible market growth and a strong presence across the design, development, and testing segments of the 5G engineering value chain. The firm has invested in a diverse partnership ecosystem with entities such as cloud hyperscalers, O-RAN consortia, and ISVs to deliver high-quality IPs to the market. It also has a significant presence in the private 5G area with dedicated offerings in network-as-a-service and cloud-based platforms for virtualized network function deployments. NTT DATA consistently receives appreciation from buyers on its skilled resource pool, which stands out due to its technical know-how in the 5G domain, along with delivery flexibility due to its presence across global geographies.”
The 5G Engineering Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2021 is based on Everest Group’s annual RFI process for the calendar year 2021, which includes interactions with leading digital service providers, client reference checks, and an in-depth analysis of the engineering services market.
